How to Consume:
For heartburn:
The standard oral recommended dose for heart burn is 1gm (1000mg) but it should not be more than 7 grams in one day
Storage Conditions:
Keep the medication in a tightly closed container, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat(sunlight) and moisture.
Duration between two dose:
Mostly calcium carbonate as antacid is taken once a day but if needed twice a day it is taken before or after breakfast and before or after dinner as per prescribed by the doctor.

Dry mouth
Increased urine

Pharmacokinetics:
Calcium carbonate antacids are rapidly absorbed in the stomach and upper small intestine after oral administration.
Calcium carbonate antacids are distributed throughout the body via the bloodstream and can increase the calcium levels in the blood.
Calcium carbonate antacids are not metabolized by the body and are eliminated in the feces.

Allergic Reactions:
Allergic reaction due to antacid is rare but get immediate medical assistance if you see any of these symptoms:-

Child Dosage:
Generally, the recommended dose is 500-1500 mg per day, divided into smaller doses taken after meals and at night.

Important Note:
To get the total benefits of this medicine take the medicine each day at same time.
Avoid consumption of calcium carbonate within 1-2hrs if taking other medications. As calcium may reduce the effectiveness of the other medication.
