Chlorhexidine gluconate is excreted almost exclusively in the faeces and less than half is absorbed in the urine.
Pharmacodynamics:
Bode spectrum antibiotic with proven activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeasts and viruses. Antibacterial activity is dose dependent. At low quantities, this medication is bacteriostatic, while at high concentrations, it is bactericidal. Pharmacokinetic mechanism studies show that approximately 30% of the active ingredient is keep in the mouth after rinsing and then slowly released into oral fluids (chlorhexidine mouthwash). Toothpastes containing chlorhexidine can cause discoloration of oral surfaces. B. Dental leads.
