Introduction:
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is widely used as spice, preservative and dye in India. Turmeric is widely used in its native nations for a number of purposes, including as a culinary spice, a dietary pigment, and an Indian traditional medicine for the treatment of numerous conditions. Modern Indian traditional medicine uses it for biliary disorders, anorexia, cough, diabetic injuries, liver disorders, rheumatism, and sinusitis. The old Hindus texts called it an aromatic and carminative stimulant. It is widely used within the Chinese and Ayurvedic medical system.

Daily Use and Home Remedies:
Anemia:
Drink a teaspoon of turmeric juice combined with honey each day.
Asthma:
Boil 1 cup of milk with 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. Drink warm.
Burns:
Apply 1 tsp turmeric to 1 tsp aloe gel on the burned area.
Conjunctivitis:
Mix 1 tbsp. of smashed raw turmeric with 1/3 of a cup of water. Boil and strain. Up to three times a day, use 2-3 drops of this mixture in both eyes.
Acne:
Apply a turmeric paste to the skin before going to bed and wash it off after a few minutes. Remove any lingering yellow hue in the morning using a mixture of flour made from chickpeas (besan) and oil.
Dental problems:
Combine 1 teaspoon turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon salt.. Add mustard oil to make a paste. This paste should be applied to the teeth and gums twice a day.

In vitro, curcumin has been shown to inhibit protein kinase, c-Jun/AP-1 activation, prostaglandin biosynthesis, and activity and expression of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 3 .
